Univision and GoFundMe Announce Partnership to Support Aspiring Latino Small Business Owners at POSiBLE LA Entrepreneur Summit.

Univision Communications and GoFundMe have partnered to help support Latino entrepreneurs and aspiring small business owners. The partnership will leverage the trusted GoFundMe social fundraising platform to provide a dedicated Univision-branded destination for the Latino community to give and receive funds for entrepreneurial and social impact campaigns.

The partnership rollout will begin later this summer in Los Angeles and will continue to expand to key markets before the end of the year. People will be able to start campaigns on GoFundMe and have access to all the powerful features which have made GoFundMe the go-to destination for fundraising—including fast set-up, social sharing tools, renowned customer support, GoFundMe Guarantee and a free platform. Univision will leverage its TV, radio and digital media portfolio to highlight and bring attention to select stories and campaigns submitted to the dedicated Univision GoFundMe page.

The partnership was announced during Univision’s POSiBLE LA Entrepreneur Summit on Saturday, June 23. The one-day event, which is now in its second year, brings together top entrepreneurs and self-made professionals to teach aspiring Latino business owners in the Los Angeles-areas how to plan, finance, structure, launch and grow a business.

“As a mission-driven company, Univision is committed to empowering our community to create a brighter future for themselves and their families. By partnering with GoFundMe to develop this unique destination, we will be able to help Latino entrepreneurs and small business owners get closer to making their dreams a reality,” said Luis Patiño, president and general manager of Univision Los Angeles.

GoFundMe provides individuals with an easy-to-use platform to start a fundraising campaign and share it broadly with the community in minutes. Donors can see all the Univision campaigns in one centralized location and take immediate action to support members of the community. The hub will provide information in both English and Spanish, and feature a “Start a Campaign” section where anyone from the community can start a campaign.
