BBC News are sending a team of correspondents to Russia for the 2018 World Cup, led by BBC Sport Editor Dan Roan.
They will be reporting around the clock from all over Russia, bringing the very latest from the managers, players and fans, from the first kick off until the final whistle.
BBC World Service football reporters, Steve Crossman and John Bennett, will be in Russia, with Steve based in Moscow and John travelling to venue cities such as Kaliningrad, Samara and St Petersburg, focusing initially on the five African teams that have qualified.
Mani Djazmi presents five editions of World Football from locations across Russia throughout the tournament, and Lee James will host Sportsworld over the opening two weekends, from the BBC’s broadcast position in the lively heart of Moscow.
Olly Foster will present Sport Bulletins for the BBC News Channel and BBC World News from Red Square throughout the competition, bringing the key stories, results and action to viewers in the UK and across the World.
Seven BBC World Service language services are in Russia for the tournament – BBC Arabic; BBC Persian; BBC Africa (English); BBC Brasil; BBC Hausa; BBC Afrique and of course BBC Russian.
There is not a host city that the language services won’t be in. Arabic, Persian and BBC Africa will be providing television coverage as well as radio and online, with daily TV updates and dedicated World Cup bulletins.
The language services won’t just be reporting on the players and coaches – the key to this World Cup is the stories around it – of the fans, of the spectacle, and of Russia itself – and those stories will be being told in more ways than ever before.
Football Focus Special will be presented by Dan Walker and Alex Scott from the BBC studio in Red Square, Moscow, and aims to bring the excitement of the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia with a mixture of match analysis, fan reaction as well as player and team profiles.
Sport Today will be on location in Russia with reporters from both the UK and the BBC’s Moscow bureau bringing audiences a wealth of coverage. This will include live reporting capturing the latest news, results and atmosphere, and interviews and analysis with pundits and former players, with a range of global perspectives to cover the fortunes of all nations in the competition.
Sport Today will air on BBC World News at 7.30pm (GMT) Monday to Thursday, at 11.15am, 1.15pm and 6.15pm GMT on Saturdays and 1.15pm and 6.15pm (GMT) on Sundays.
World Sportsday will also have a new fresh look and will be a longer show during the 2018 FIFA World Cup, going into more depth on stories with a range of guests, more features and a look at the way social media is covering the competition. World Sportsday will air on BBC World News at 6.30pm (GMT) on Fridays.
