WITI Fox 6 Top in Milwaukee News Ratings

Fox 6 was the most watched station in Southeastern Wisconsin, in morning, evening, and late news local programming during the Nielsen rated May sweeps period.

Among Adults 25-54, Fox 6 Wake Up (M-F 430-9am) was number one in the market. In early/evening news, Fox 6 was also number one with local news at 4pm, 5pm, and 6pm. Fox 6 again beat the market with M-F Fox 6 News @ 9pm and Fox 6 News @ 10pm finishing 1st and 2nd in the late news time period.

“We are proud of our accomplishments which show that the Milwaukee market relies on us as the number one resource, both on-air and on-line, for news and information,” said Fox 6 News Director John LaPorte. “Fox 6 Wake Up has been number one since January 2010, so it’s an honor not to only see our success, but our ability to sustain that success tells us we have earned the long-term trust of our viewers.”

WITI Fox 6 also topped the Milwaukee Television social ratings for the month of May according to Share Rocket with social share, audience, and engagement greater than all its local TV competitors combined.

For entertainment programming, Fox 6’s Judge Judy in early fringe, TMZ in access, and Seinfeld in late fringe all either won the time periods or tied (TMZ) for first place.

“I’ve always looked at the May sweep as an equalizer with the least amount of sports that can help a station,” said Chuck Steinmetz, President/General Manager Fox 6. “We certainly see great success with the NFL and the Green Bay Packers each year, but to again be ranked first on an equal playing field is very rewarding.”
