FOX59 Leads the Way in Central Indiana

FOX59 is Central Indiana’s news leader in May’s ratings.

During the recently completed May sweeps period, FOX59 once again won the top slot with Indianapolis adults 25-54 for 9 newscasts of the broadcast day according to Nielsen.

In both the 6-7am and 7-9am time periods, WXIN holds more than 50% of the available news rating points, nearly doubling the closest competition in many time periods.

“From extensive team coverage of the Indy 500 to the tragic school shooting in Noblesville, no one covered the big story better than our team,” commented VP of News, Kerri Cavanaugh. “Our viewers know that they can count on our coverage every day, in every newscast and on any platform.”

In the early evening, FOX59 News First at 4 and FOX59 News at 7 are number one, and WXIN’s 10pm and 11pm newscasts outperform all other late newscasts in either time period, making the FOX59 News at Ten AND Newspoint at 11 the top-rated late newscasts in the market.

“Our mornings have been on top for years, our early evenings are stronger than ever before and our late newscasts lead the market,” said Jamie Aitken, WXIN General Manager. “I am proud of the product that our team puts out every day and it is evident that the viewers have chosen FOX59 as their overwhelming favorite for local news.”
