FOX 61 has announced that from August 1st, in addition to mornings, the station will bring viewers comprehensive traffic reports during its 4pm and 5pm weekday newscasts.
FOX 61 will be the only Connecticut TV station to bring commuters convenient and accurate traffic reports to assist with travel to and from home.
“We are pleased to announce that Rachel Lutzker will be moving from our FOX 61 Morning News team to support this important traffic initiative for the afternoon drive,” said Jon Hitchcock, VP and General Manager of FOX 61. “Her years of experience analyzing Connecticut’s often complex traffic picture on both FOX 61 and iHeartRadio, clearly makes Rachel the most skilled and trusted traffic reporter in the market.”
In her expanded role, Lutzker, Connecticut’s premier traffic reporter will bring her 20 years of experience keeping commuters safe and informed as they plan their drive.
“Moving from mornings to afternoons is an exciting opportunity for me to bring our viewers exclusive reporting on the challenging afternoon traffic situation,” said Lutzker.
In addition to her afternoon traffic duties, Rachel will team up with Jim Altman to create new segments for the Emmy Award® winning, “Daytrippers”. The series highlights great local attractions which viewers can visit in a single day.
“Traffic is important and relevant to our communities,” said VP News Liz Grey Godbout. “We can better serve our viewers on FOX61 First at 4 and 5pm and on our FOX61 news app as Rachel provides real time traffic reports on the commute home.”
FOX 61’s Traffic reports can be seen mornings from 5 to 10am and afternoons from 4 to 6pm, on-air, online and through the FOX 61 News app.
