Virgin Media is treating its customers this summer to two months free access to premium sports network, Premier Sports.
Virgin TV will be giving all of its customers two months’ free access to Premier Sports, which would normally cost £9.99 a month.
This fantastic offer kicks-in from this Saturday and follows the news that FreeSports – Premier Sports’ sister channel – is now available on Virgin TV.
The news couldn’t come at a better time for football fans with the ‘big six’ Premier League sides – including Manchester United and Liverpool – all taking part in the International Champions Cup against Europe’s elite clubs in the US with Premier Sports the only place to watch all of the action live.
There is more to Premier Sports than just football. It has signed a landmark deal to be the exclusive broadcaster for the Guinness PRO14 competition. It will show all 152 games with no less than 21 games free-to-air on FreeSports. It also airs NHL ice hockey matches, action from the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA), motorsport events and Rugby League.
All Virgin TV customers will be able to watch Premier Sports in high-definition on channel 551 and temporarily on 127. It is free for two months initially with no additional subscription required.
David Bouchier, Chief Digital Entertainment Officer at Virgin Media, said: “We are delighted to be offering our customers Premier Sports to sample at no extra cost. This opportunity expands our already impressive array of sports channels and Premier Sports has some great events from the world of sport, starting with the ICC tournament in the US this weekend.”
Richard Sweeney, CEO at Premier Sports, said: “This is a very exciting proposition for new and existing customers to view some of the great content Premier Sports has to offer. The channel boasts some amazing coverage in the next few months including the ICC tournament featuring the top sides in England as well as every game from the PRO14 beginning late August.”
