GoMedia Adds UKTV Shows to Railway Entertainment System

GoMedia has announced UKTV as its newest content partner, ensuring passengers arrive at their destination with a smile on their faces.

Passengers on West Midlands Railways’ trains will be able to enjoy shows from UKTV Play, the broadcaster’s on-demand service.

The content update brings more than 300 episodes from the network’s Dave, Really and Yesterday channels. Programmes include Jon Richardson: Ultimate Worrier, Dara O Briain’s Go 8 Bit, Yianni: Supercar Customiser, Into the Fire and Football’s 47 Best Worst Songs.

By September, UKTV shows will also be available for Chiltern, c2c Rail, TransPennine Express and Greater Anglia passengers.

Roger Matthews, Managing Director, GoMedia, says: “GoMedia’s focus has always been on increasing passenger satisfaction through the connected onboard experience. Partnering with UKTV will bring the best of British comedy and entertainment direct to passengers’ devices, making the daily commute a more enjoyable part of their day. Focusing on episodic TV will appeal to a wider range of passengers and enable them to dive in and out on their commute, or watch several episodes on a longer journey.”

Hugo Allen, Head of Commercial UKTV Play & VoD, UKTV, says: “We’re excited to partner with GoMedia because it gives even more people access to our brilliant programmes. With the likes of Jon Richardson and Dara O’Briain now available on rail services, we hope it helps make these journeys more entertaining and enjoyable for passengers.”

UKTV Play joins GoMedia’s portfolio of content partners, including HBO, Universal Pictures, Warner Brothers, Sky News, NOW TV and many more.
