SiriusXM has announced that World Golf Hall of Fame member, multi-time major champion and 2018 Charles Schwab Cup champion Bernhard Langer will host a new monthly show on the SiriusXM PGA TOUR Radio channel.
In a career that has spanned more than four decades he has won 111 professional events worldwide, including memorable victories at the 1985 and 1993 Masters. Since joining PGA TOUR Champions in 2007, he’s won 38 times on that circuit including 10 major championship events.
Langer just finished up another remarkably successful season. At the age of 60, he made the cut at both the Masters and The Open, finishing T-38 and T-24 respectively, ahead of many players who are half his age. He completed his 2018 PGA TOUR Champions campaign with two wins and 14 Top-10 finishes and earned his record fifth Charles Schwab Cup season title.
Now Langer has his own SiriusXM show where he can share and discuss the philosophy and methods that have enabled him to compete at such a high level for so long.
Golfing Younger with Bernhard Langer, which he will host alongside David Marr III, will debut live, December 12 (3:00 pm ET) on the SiriusXM PGA TOUR Radio channel (SiriusXM.com/golfonsxm). Langer will discuss his routine, fitness and mental preparation, and share his experiences from the European Tour, PGA TOUR and PGA TOUR Champions. He will talk about the game today, and share his insights into the atmosphere and competition of major golf events like the Masters, the Ryder Cup and more.
“I’m excited to host my own show on SiriusXM PGA TOUR Radio,” said Langer. “I have experienced quite a lot during my career in golf and I look forward to sharing my stories, fitness and golf drills, and thoughts on the game on an excellent platform like SiriusXM that enables me to connect with golf fans across the country.”
Langer turned professional in 1972 and in 1986, he became the first-ever world #1 in the inaugural Official World Golf Rankings. The German-born Langer represented Team Europe as a player in 10 Ryder Cups from 1981-2002 and captained the Europeans to a convincing Ryder Cup victory at Oakland Hills in Michigan in 2004. In 2002 he became the first of his countrymen to be inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame. He added another prestigious honor in 2018 as the recipient of the PGA TOUR’s Payne Stewart Award in recognition of his supreme level of character, sportsmanship, professionalism and the way he upholds the values of golf.
“What Bernhard has been able to accomplish in professional golf for so long, so consistently, is really quite amazing. Whether you are a pro or a weekend player, we can all learn a lot when he talks about his approach to the game,” said Scott Greenstein, SiriusXM’s President and Chief Content Officer. “We’re excited to have him on SiriusXM PGA TOUR Radio to share with our listeners his insight, stories, and perhaps some of the recipes and techniques behind his extraordinary and enduring career.”
The SiriusXM PGA TOUR Radio channel is available to listeners nationwide on SiriusXM radios (Sirius channel 208, XM channel 92) and on the SiriusXM app, as well as on a wide variety of connected devices including smart TVs, Amazon Alexa devices, Apple TV, Sony PlayStation, Sonos speakers and more.
