Univision Deportes has announced its coverage plans for the highly anticipated UEFA Champions League Final between Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool FC, including the special appearances by two European soccer legends as part of its broadcast team.

The undisputed Home of Soccer in the U.S. will telecast the concluding chapter of La Champions live from the Estadio Metropolitano in Madrid on Saturday, June 1st. Coverage begins on Univision Deportes Network (UDN) at 12:00 p.m. ET with a special edition of Misión Europa and continues at 1:30 p.m. ET on Univision and UDN with the Fútbol Central pre-game show.

This week, leading to the main event, Univision Deportes adds former Champions League winners Carles Puyol (FC Barcelona ’06, ’09, ‘11) and Javier Zanetti (Inter Milan ’10) to its broadcast team as guest analysts and commentators during the match. Jorge Ramos, Univision’s award-winning journalist, anchor and author, will also make the trip to Madrid to participate in Saturday’s pre-game show. Alan Tacher, host of “Despierta América,” the top Spanish-language morning show in the country, will team with Univision Deportes’ Lucía Villalón to cover all the preparations as fans arrive for the biggest European fútbol fiesta of the year.

As part of the coverage, Univision Deportes top shows Misión Europa and Línea de Cuatro will air live from Madrid throughout the week, while Locura Deportiva, Fútbol Club and Contacto Deportivo will include special live segments from the Spanish capital. They will also include segments from Liverpool and London, as well as with fans in the U.S., plus the latest news about the teams, exclusive interviews with key players and special reports and stories that will bring fanáticos closer to the action.

Univision Deportes’ team of award-winning sportscasters includes UEFA Champions League winner and Ballon D’or 1994 Hristo Stoichkov; legendary Real Madrid and Inter de Milan striker Iván Zamorano, iconic UEFA Champions League commentators Luis Omar Tapia and Diego Balado, as well as European soccer experts Alejandro Berry, Marc Crosas, Tony Cherchi, Lucía Villalón, among others.

This year’s all-England championship matchup is the product of two miraculous comebacks in the semifinal round. The Spurs defeated Ajax, the revelation team of the tournament, with a hat-trick by Brazilian forward Lucas Moura that included a last-minute goal in the decisive match of the series. A victory for Spurs would make Argentina’s Mauricio Pochettino the first South American manager to ever win UEFA Champions League. In the other semifinal, after losing to FC Barcelona by 3-0 at Camp Nou in the first leg, The Reds pulled off the impossible and defeated the star-studded Barça by 4-0 at Anfield.
