The Sun newspaper will hold a debate between Boris Johnson and Jeremy Hunt as they vie to become the UK’s next Prime Minister.
The debate will take place on July 15th at ‘the News Building’, headquarters of The Sun, one of Britain’s best selling tabloid newspapers.
Confirming the date and location, the paper also announced that the 90-minute long event will also be broadcast on TalkRADIO as well as via its website.
Both candidates have confirmed that they will be attending the debate, with Boris telling the paper; “I’m delighted to be taking part in The Sun’s debate, to sell my vision to its readers on how we will deliver Brexit and take the country forward as one.”
Johnson is under pressure to accept further media debates, having already accepted a proposal by ITV, but so far rejecting a proposal from Sky News.
The two candidates are now embarking on a tour of the nation in a bid to woo over Conservative party members in their bid to lead the party. The outcome of the members’ ballot will known on 22nd July.
