Fleur East, Greg Burns and James Barr have been confirmed as the hosts of a new breakfast show on Bauer Media’s Hits Radio from 12th July.
Broadcasting live from Manchester on weekday mornings, this national commercial breakfast show lead by the talented Fleur East will be as fun as it is unique. Much like your favourite WhatsApp group chat, this trio of lively individuals are there to bring you up to date on all the biggest things happening right now and never take themselves too seriously.
Singer and TV personality Fleur East has been in the public eye since shooting to fame as a finalist on The X Factor (2014) before launching a music-career with huge debut single ‘Sax’, which garnered over 110 million streams on Spotify and 75 million plays on YouTube. She re-captured the public’s hearts all over again when appearing as a contestant on last year’s I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! (2018) and has since featured as a regular presenter on ITV’s This Morning.
Fellow host Greg Burns is an award-winning comedian and presenter who has held long-running Drivetime shows on both Heart and Capital FM, as well as a successful show on Virgin Radio. After returning from Australia where he hosted a national morning show for the last two years, the radio star is back to entertain UK audiences. James Barr is an MTV presenter and comedian who co-hosts one of the UK’s leading LGBTQ+ comedy award-winning podcasts, and is taking his first solo show to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe this summer. Together the three will be regularly joined on the show by some of today’s biggest names in entertainment and music.
Paul Gerrard, Programme Director Hits Radio said “Fleur has a perfect radio personality with an infectious energy and naturally chatty style that we know our listeners will love. Her natural talent for radio shone through the minute she stepped into the studio and it’s with this and her brilliant co-hosts Greg and James that we’ve been able to build a really exciting new breakfast show. At once relevant, engaging and uplifting, the show will connect perfectly for our listeners who lead busy and chaotic lives.”
New Breakfast host Fleur East said “We’re buzzing with excitement to launch this new show and be a morning companion for so many people around the UK. There will be early starts, but Breakfast Radio has the power to brighten up any morning, and we’re all about bringing that fun and positive energy.”
The team are in good company at Hits Radio, with fellow presenter Sarah Jane Crawford recently appointed to present afternoons on the station, in addition to hosting The UK Chart Show every Sunday. Rising star Jordan Lee has been signed up as evening host, while Gemma Atkinson and Wes Butters are set to launch an exciting new Drivetime show in the New Year.
