Sky News, which was snubbed last week by Boris Johnson, is determined to get both of the Tory Leadership candidates on their air by hook or by crook.
Sky News has announced that tonight (1st July), they will host a one on one interview between Jeremy Hunt and Kay Burley.
The interview is taking place as a direct replacement for what should have been a debate between Jeremy Hunt and Boris Johnson. Sky News had initially invited both Mr Hunt and Mr Johnson to a televised debate, however Johnson declined the invitation on two separate occasions.
Sky News has confirmed that it has also sent a separate invitation to Boris Johnson in order to conduct a a similar interview with Kay Burley on a different evening.
The news channel has stated again, that it remains ready to host a debate between the two candidates at any time that suits them.
The Conservatives are set to name their new leader this month after the Tory Leadership campaign has toured the nation through a series of hustings. The winner of the contest also becomes the next Prime Minister of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
