7.86 Million Tune Into ABC Democratic Debate

Your Voice, Your Vote 2020 – The Democratic Debate

ABC‘ s “Your Voice, Your Vote 2020 – The Democratic Debate” drew 7.86 million Total Viewers, 1.3 rating in Adults 18-49 and a 1.7 rating in Adults 25-54, based on Nielsen’s “Fast National” ratings.

Moderated by George Stephanopoulos, David Muir and Linsey Davis, the Democratic Debate in New Hampshire ranked as the No.1 program among Total Viewers, Adults 18-49 and Adults 25-54 on Friday evening.

ABC News’ Democratic Debate coverage drew an estimated 3.2 million streaming viewers and a total of 7.3 million video viewers across ABC News Live and VOD. These include O&O (ABC News and FiveThirtyEight), plus distributed partners on social (e.g., Facebook, Twitter) and OTT (e.g., TRC, Hulu SVOD).

The ABC News debate delivered the network’s best performance in the time slot with non-sports programming in nearly 5 years in Total Viewers and in 3 years in both Adults 18-49 Adults 25-54 – since 4/24/15 and 1/6/17, respectively.

The ABC News debate outperformed the most recent debate in Total Viewers by 7% (7.86 million vs. 7.36 million on CNN on 1/14/20). In fact, the ABC News debate outdelivered the last three Democratic debates including the CNN debate in December (4.09 million on 12/19/19) and the MSNBC debate in November (6.604 million on 11/20/19).

NOTE: ABC’s September debate ratings remains the highest rate debate this election in Total Viewers and Adults 25-54.
