British spaceman Tim Peake turns presenter in a new series of films looking at science and technology for BBC One’s The One Show

In his first appearance, he compared self-isolating at home with his experiences in space – Friday’s episode of the The One Show is available on the BBC’s iPlayer.

From video calls to exercising indoors, Tim Peake is well versed in the trials and tribulations of being stuck inside, although in his case it was six-months on the International Space Station.

In his first film for The One Show, Tim compares activities he did in space to how he does them at home and focuses on the importance of having a routine and remembering to have fun.

The film is part of a series Tim will be making for The One Show, including one in which Tim will be exploring the science of breathing to the latest technology needed to engineer the ultimate space suit.

Tim says: “I’m delighted to be joining The One Show. It’s an incredibly exciting time for science, technology and space exploration and I can’t wait to showcase some of the amazing work that is being done in the UK and to continue the outreach mission I started with Principia.”

Executive Producer, BBC Studios, Michael Armit, says: “We are delighted to welcome Tim Peak to the One Show family. He brings with him huge passion and expertise and we are excited to have him present a series of films covering everything from self-isolation to exploring life on Mars for us.”
