Coronavirus: Magic Radio Launches Daily “Essential Voices” Update

Magic Radio

Magic Radio and its sister network Greatest Hits Radio will broadcast a new daily update “essential voices” providing the stories of key workers around the UK.

The Magic Radio team were successful in securing a grant from the Audio Content Fund in their latest special funding round to support audiences during Coronavirus restrictions.

Across the network they are launching, ‘Essential Voices’ – a series of powerful, emotional, revealing short stories, shining a light on keyworkers around the country.

The content is produced by TBI Media and aims to bring a human perspective to a national crisis, offering listeners a completely unique view of the individuals who are keeping the country going. It is a chance to stop each day and hear stories of kindness and the human spirit triumphing. Listeners can expect stories both moving and funny in this series which runs for 6 weeks.

Tony Moorey, Group Content Director for Magic Radio Network said, “We want to pay tribute to the army of workers who are essential to keeping Britain running in extraordinary times and believe that there’s no better way to tell their story, than in their own voices. The Audio Content Fund enables us to draw on the researching excellence of TBI Media to find voices who represent the range of roles and backgrounds with their letters from the front line. Essential listening.

The programme will be broadcast everyday at midday across the Magic Radio Network and at 2pm on Greatest Hits Radio Network.
