BBC One’s “The One Show” host, Alex Jones will take to the radio airwaves across Wales this September with her very own show on BBC Radio Wales.
Alex, who grew up in Ammanford, Carmarthenshire, is the latest high profile presenter to take on the Sunday Morning slot on BBC Radio Wales and will bring her warmth and easy conversational style to the station.
So far the ‘Sunday Morning with…’ slot has been presented by a series of high profile Welsh names which have included Keeping Faith star Eve Myles, presenter Carol Vorderman, athlete Colin Jackson, actress Suzanne Packer and broadcaster Anna Ryder Richardson.
Each week, Alex will be joined by special guests for a relaxed mix of music and conversation. Joining Alex on the first show will be Rhod Gilbert and Sian Harries who’ll be discussing starting their own podcast during lockdown, Denise Van Outen will be talking musicals and Welsh entrepreneurs, Sophie and Hannah Pycroft, aka the Spectrum sisters will be sharing how they are taking the beauty world by storm.
Alex said: “I’m so excited to get my headphones back on for BBC Radio Wales and to play some of my favourite songs.
“There is something so special about radio – the connection you can have with the listeners and there’s something extra special about talking to people in Wales.”
Editor of BBC Radio Wales Colin Paterson added: “Alex is one of the country’s best loved presenters. Her style and warmth makes her perfect for radio and I’m over the moon that she’s joining the line-up here at BBC Radio Wales.”
Sunday Mornings with Alex Jones starts on Sunday 6th September and will air every Sunday for six consecutive weeks from 9.30am until 11am.
