BBC Sounds

BBC Sounds and BBC Radio listeners will be able to discover and enjoy even more music and artists through new podcasts and mixes from across its network.

Iconic Grammy award-winning rapper Eve will present her first podcast Constantly Evolving. In each episode, Eve sits down with a guest – including Henry Holland, Olivia Breen, Paloma Faith and Swizz Beatz – exploring the best way to learn life lessons and reflects on what’s got them to where they are.

Speaking with those from the world of music, fashion, sport and film, Constantly Evolving delves into how Eve and her guests have fulfilled their potential and how their stories of successes and failures have shaped them into the people they are today.

Eve says: “I’m so excited to be joining the BBC for my first podcast, talking to some incredible people from all walks of life and learning along the way with the listeners!”

Jonathan Wall, Controller of BBC Sounds, says: “The BBC has a long history of helping listeners discover brilliant music and artists and, in the same month Radio 1 Dance launched, there’s now even more for music lovers to enjoy on BBC Sounds. We’re harnessing the musical expertise from across the BBC’s much loved radio stations to give listeners on Sounds mixes that suit their mood and new podcasts that help fans get closer to their favourite artists and music.”

Partnering with Radio 1, the podcast sees the singer-songwriter turn his hand to presenting as he meets young music fans who are approaching turning points in their lives.

Each week, he chats to one fan to discuss topics and issues affecting young people today, whether it be gender, identity, money worries, friendships, style or mental health.

In the first episode YUNGBLUD talks about fluid sexuality with fan Ashley from Glasgow, and they share what it‘s like when others try to define their sexuality. Episodes are available weekly on BBC Sounds.

Also available is The Rap Game UK Podcast in which Lady Ice and Remi Burgz go behind the scenes of BBC Three’s The Rap Game UK, meeting UK rap legends DJ Target and Krept and Konan to dissect every clash.

They’ll be speaking to all the unsigned MCs as they go head to head to win a record label contract. A new episode is available every Thursday only on BBC Sounds.

The Rap Game music mixes will feature Young T & Bugsey, DJ Target and Yungen as well as many more rap artists and the first of the mixes is also on BBC Sounds today.

Cillian Murphy returns with a twelve-part series of two hour programmes called Cillian Murphy’s Limited Edition. Cillian curates his own nocturnal playlist with music from all corners of his extensive record collection, and listeners can find out why they hold a special place in his musical life.
Episodes of Cillian Murphy: Limited Edition are available on BBC Sounds, before their weekly broadcast on Radio 6 Music on Mondays, midnight-2am.

In November, 6 Music’s Artist In Residence launches with hip-hop artist Loyle Carner, the first musician to treat listeners over six episodes with specially selected treasures from their record boxes, particularly other artists who have inspired them. Further series of 6 Music’s Artist In Residence in 2021 will be presented by Arlo Parks and Phoebe Bridgers.
