In fact, “World News Tonight Sunday” took the top spot during the 4th quarter for the 10th year in a row in Total Viewers and in 8 of the last 10 years in Adults 25-54 – since 4Q11.
“World News Tonight Sunday” improved on the year-ago 4th quarter in Total Viewers (+916,000/+17% – 6.266 million vs. 5.350 million), Adults 25-54 (+147,000/+18% – 976,000 vs. 829,000) and Adults 18-49 (+118,000/+21% – 680,000 vs. 562,000).
“World News Tonight-Sunday” posted its largest overall 4th quarter audience in 19 years – since 4Q01.
“World News Tonight-Sunday” (6.286 million, 976,000 and 680,000, respectively) outperformed “NBC Nitely News-Sunday” (4.703 million, 752,000 and 527,000, respectively) by 1.563 million Total Viewers, 224,000 Adults 25-54 and by 153,000 Adults 18-49, leading NBC by its largest margins across the board during a 4th quarter in 25 years – since 4Q95.
Further, “World News Tonight-Sunday” scored its largest lead during any quarter in Total Viewers and Adults 25-54 in over 20 years – since 2Q00.
“World News Tonight- Sunday” beat “CBS Evening News-Saturday” (3.683 million and 853,000, respectively) by 2.583 million Total Viewers and by 113,000 Adults 25-54.
