Laura Wilshaw has been appointed as the new Editor of ITV News.
In this position, Laura Wilshaw will manage all of ITV’s national news programmes and digital content. This includes ITV News London and ITN-produced shows such as Tonight. She will also oversee live specials and documentaries.
Laura has extensive experience, having worked as the Deputy Editor of Channel 4 News since August 2022. She is an integral part of the senior leadership team. She influences editorial decisions. She ensures legal compliance. She also guides strategy throughout the newsroom.
She has led Channel 4 News during major global events. These include the death of Queen Elizabeth II, the climate crisis, and the Middle East conflict. Her work has earned multiple awards. These include an International Emmy, a BAFTA, and the Royal Television Society’s News Programme of the Year award.
Laura held key roles at ITV News before her time at Channel 4 News. She was a Senior Programme Editor for the acclaimed News at Ten during the Covid pandemic and the Ukraine invasion. Her contributions helped it win RTS Programme of the Year for two consecutive years. She was also Head of Home News and has held senior positions at Euronews, Sky News, and Channel 5 News.

Laura succeeds Andrew Dagnell as the Editor of ITV News. He is moving on to become ITV’s new Director of News and Current Affairs.
