The latest audience figures from JNLR show that Wireless Ireland is gaining listeners, reaching 792,000 each week, largely due to growth in Dublin.
Dublin’s Q102 attracted an additional 23,000 listeners last year, bringing its total to 192,000 weekly. FM104, popular among those aged 25-44, now has 258,000 listeners each week. In Cork, Cork’s 96fm and C103 combined for 218,000 listeners. Live 95 in Limerick grew to 93,000. LMFM reached 119,000 weekly listeners.
The urbanmedia National Package, owned by Wireless, includes Galway Bay FM with 128,000 listeners. WLR has 66,000 listeners. Together, they total nearly 1 million engaged listeners each week.
U105 in Belfast also experienced a significant rise, with a 21% increase in total listening hours to 2.456 million since last year, as per the latest RAJAR results.
With this solid foundation, 2025 looks promising for the group, thanks to new investments in talent and technology. This week, Dublin’s Q102 launched The Morning Show with Kathryn Thomas. It offers a fresh breakfast programme from new visualised studios. This is aimed at brightening mornings for Dublin listeners.
Sean Barry, Managing Director of Wireless Ireland, highlighted the latest JNLR results. He praised the local radio stations for their vital role in communities. This importance was especially noted during Storm Eowyn. He expressed excitement for future investments that will continue to entertain and engage audiences across the network.
